“This commission was painted with love to replace a painting lost in a fire. That fire completely destroyed my sister’s northern Saskatchewan home along with everything precious to her, her husband and their family. One such irreplaceable item was a painting our father had painted years ago that hung in the front entrance of that home. “Spirit of the Creek” now hangs in the same location in their new home. It is symbolic of the spirit of resilience, of the love for our father and his spirit that forever winds its way through the creek in my old backyard that was our home in Departure Bay.”
