As a kid growing up in Northern Saskatchewan, Bob Brooks was inspired to pursue a life in the arts by his father, artist Vern Brooks. As well as working as an artist, Bob spent the last 25 years working as an arts educator and school administrator. Today, Bob balances life as an artist and educator from his home studio in Nanaimo, where he draws inspiration for his work from the amazing west coast landscapes. Bob talks about his art with humour and passion and the inspiration from which he creates his landscapes. The symbol of the orange and the creative colour is a reminder to Bob of the need to stay true to your passion, follow your heart and to keep the creative juices flowing.
