“For five years, this canvas was tagged, torn, sprayed, painted and re-painted again. This was the only canvas in my alternate school classrooms. As their art teacher and mentor, countless numbers of disengaged youth found moments of peace and clarity with this surface. “Alternate Landscape” is a collaborative piece as the layers of this painting are the collective expression and memories of many, sealed beneath the resined surface.”
