“When I first started the Departures* Series, I spent time creating a few studies of Departure Bay beach at different times of the day. Just as each sunrise and sunset is unique, each study is unique in that they are created with different combinations of media. This is a perfect example of why I love resin. I was able to play with oil and water to create these pieces knowing that the resin would capture that magical light forever. Departure Sunrise No. 1 is the first in a series of three 36”x12” pieces.”
