“There is a lot going on here and it isn’t just the boats. This place inspires in the way the boast are clustered along the docks in what appears to be a haphazard fashion. This is very exciting to me as an artist; to feel that almost instinctive desire to capture that gesture of the scene and the maze of line and cable that tie all of these verticals and diagonals together. Amidst this gesture is an amazing light and colour that explodes on a backdrop of an otherwise serene landscape.”
