“Three Trees was originally inspired by the jagged mountain valley’s passes in an area called Three Valley Gap. The red roofed ‘castle’ along the shoreline always provided us with a place to rest after a long drive. Three Trees has served me as a study of shadows and light and as a reference point for other works and remained unfinished for over three years.”
